The Icing & The Cake FAQs and Policies

 How far in advance should I order a cake?

  • Please allow at least a two-week notice on all orders. Last minute cake orders may be fulfilled depending on the complexity of the cake.


 ORDER CHANGES

  • We require 72 hours notice for All changes. No changes to size, flavor or decoration can be made after this time. We are always happy to add cupcakes to orders in the event that you need to serve more guests. Leftover cake can be frozen for another day in the event you have ordered too much for your guest count.


 Do you require a deposit on cake/sweet orders?

  • A 50% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT REQUIRED FOR ALL ORDERS. Deposit refunds will not be made for cancellations and are non-transferable.


 LAST MINUTE ORDERS

  •  Last minute orders (within 72 hours from pickup date) are Final when placed & cannot be changed.


 CANCELLATIONS / MISSED PICK UPS

  • We require 72 hours notice to cancel an order. The non-refundable deposit will be applied as a credit to your next order in the event that a family emergency has postponed your event and you have given us at least 72 hours notice.


In the event of Missed or Forgotten Pickups, we make every attempt to contact you before we close. Your order will be available for pickup until the following business day, but you are responsible for the remaining balance in the event of a no-show. Deposits will not be refunded.

 NO REFUNDS

  • We promise to do our best to provide the best tasting & best looking cakes & bakery items around. Custom orders are created with love by our talented staff just for you. Please keep in mind that no two pieces of art made by people are ever exactly alike!


Once an item has been picked up by You or Your Designated Party, and Leaves Our Shop, it is considered “Accepted”.

 In the event that we have made a major mistake to the design theme (butterflies instead of dinosaurs for example) and you alert us at the time of pickup, every attempt will be made to correct this error in a timely manner, before you leave our shop. In the event that we are unable to correct our mistake before your event, you can choose not to accept the cake and will not be held responsible for the balance due. While it makes us very sad to make mistakes, and we will never knowingly disappoint you, please remember that people, not machines are designing your cakes. No refunds will be given for color selections or minor design discrepancies.

 TRANSPORTING

  •  You are responsible for transporting your order home safely & we are not responsible once an order leaves our premises. Cakes should never be placed on seats! Place them on the floorboard of the vehicle so that they are level. 


 Do you provide specialty cake consultations/tastings?

  • No. We only do consultations/tastings for wedding cake orders. We do have a  large selection of cupcakes and cake pops for sale at our shop. The basic theme you select & the research required for certain designs is left up to the client. Please have as much information ready as possible when placing your orders regarding guest count, flavor choices, cake shape, theme & decorating ideas so that we may assist you in a timely manner.


 If you want a specific cake design, we ask that you drop off or email a picture for us to coordinate with.  If no picture has been received prior to 72 hours in advance of your pickup, we reserve the right to use creative judgment when we feel it is necessary to have your cake ready by the pickup time that you have selected.

 Do you ship your cakes?

  • No, we do not ship our cakes at this time.


 

WEDDING CAKE QUESTIONS:

 Do you provide Wedding Cake consultations/tastings?

  • Yes! Wedding cake consultations are available by appointment and accommodate two people, and include a sampling of two flavors (Vanilla, Lemon, Almond, Chocolate, etc.), plus icing and fillings. If you would like to sample more flavors we need to know in advance to make sure we have that flavor available. The consultation takes about 45 minutes. 


For your convenience, we do accept phone consultations for wedding cakes and can place your order this way in the event that you are unable to come in person for the consultation.

 Do you require a deposit on wedding cakes?

  • Wedding cake orders require a non-refundable security deposit of 50%, which is applied to the final balance. Final balances & all changes are due 30 days prior to the scheduled delivery date.


 Do you have cake stands available for rent?

  • Yes! They start at $15 per stand and require a cash deposit that will be refunded when the stand is returned. We do need them returned within 3 business days.


 What is your delivery area? What do you charge for delivery?

  • We are willing to travel anywhere our cakes can safely be delivered so please contact us to inquire about a specific location. Delivery and set up fees are additional.

Every product produced in our bakery is made with shared equipment that may have come in contact with ingredients containing allergens including but not limited to: Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Soy, Dairy, Eggs, Gluten, Wheat etc.  If you have food allergies, it is advised that you do not consume our products.
